1. Babies Cannot Taste Salt
They are born with a good sense of taste. They can taste sweet, sour and bitter flavors flawlessly; however, they are not able to taste salt till they turn 4 months old.
2. They Do Not Have Kneecaps
Take an X-Ray report of a baby’s leg and you will not see any kneecap. Only a small and smudgy spot is visible. Kneecaps develop between 3 to 5 years of age. Before that, there is only cartilage at the place of kneecap. Now, this is actually a good thing for babies. Absence of kneecap makes them sustain all the abuse that toddlers go through while crawling and falling when they learn to walk.
3. They Have More Bones Than Adults
Babies are born with 300 bones. As they grow into adults, the bones fuse together resulting in the final 206 bone count.
4. They Have Consumed Their Own Pee And Poop
Babies start to urinate within a few months of conception. The urine mixes with the amniotic fluid which the baby drinks. And some babies even poop while in the womb. Though this is rare but if it happens, that too is consumed by the fetus.
