Cockroach Milk To Become Part Of Your Daily Diet
Before you start cringing at the thought of drinking cockroach milk every morning for breakfast let us tell you that this is the latest science discovery that has shocked everyone. You might think this to be weird but the recent research conducted at the Institute For Stem Cell Biology And Regenerative Medicine has come off with a proof.
Cockroach Milk Is Rich In Amino Acids And Proteins
A 54 day test was carried in lab to determine the importance of the milk that is found in the belly of cockroachs stomach. It was found that the liquid that is found in the mid guts of the growing embryos contained dense-like crystal substance. This was found to hold rich quantities of amino acids along with essential proteins, sugars and fats. The investigating team concluded that this substance that is present in the cockroach belly can provide three times more energy than that of cows milk. The researchers have claimed that this can be an essential source of food for malnourished people.
It Can Be A Complete Food
According to Sanchari Banerjee, Indian Biologist And Researcher, the crystals extracted from the cockroach belly can serve as complete food for humans. They contain all the essential amino acids and thus can fulfill protein requirements. A confirmed final statement is yet to be made though.
However, it is still to be confirmed whether this idea is feasible in the long run. The fact cannot be ignored that retrieving this substance in large quantities seems a far off idea as cockroaches do not have nipples and so they cannot be milked. Scientists claim that in order to produce it in large quantities the use of Bioengineered Yeast can be helpful. But, it is yet to be confirmed that cockroach milk is healthy for human consumption or not.
